XJR1300 clock Gear indication test
Quick test of a set of XRJ1300 clocks after being fitted with gear position indication. The input to my circuit is provided by a modified neutral switch that then gives a unique signal for each selected gear. This requires just a single wire and the clocks are completed with an warning for when your side stand is in the lowered position. If interested in having yours converted, message me or email xjr1300gpi@perminatech.co.uk and I’ll get back to you.

E39 auxiliary fan motor bench test
Переглядів 376 місяців тому
Bench test of my old repaired 2000 M5 E39 auxiliary fan motor to see how it works. 3-wire fan required 12v power, an earth, and a PWM square wave input (TTL / 5v) to kick it into life. Interestingly there’s a soft start in-built from what I can tell, as it takes 5 seconds or so after receiving a valid input to actually start. Anyway, might assist someone else trying to test theirs perhaps.

Quick test of a set of GSX1400 clocks that had a GPi installed in 2016 (no problems there) but was reportedly not showing any speed readings. All looks good so the fault lies elsewhere. I’ll hit-soak test for while in case it’s intermittent but currently all is good.

Quick test of a Gen 1 set of Suzuki Hayabusa clocks that have just had a blue backlighting and gear indication conversion fitted. The request was to mark 6th (top) Gear in green instead of the usual red so that’s been done too (a first) and looks quite good I think. They’ll be heading back to Chris in Trumbull USA on Monday and whilst they’re not the easiest things to get good video of, they lo...

Pre Dijon preparations included fresh fluids throughout, N&B check and full laser geometry check. Sounded absolutely nuts in the confines of CT Racing workshop, although the straight through pipes helped. ;)

For guys that raced a TZ back in the day this bike is a vision of what the TZ might have become if production didn't stop. Damn I miss the 2 strokes!

Hi Are you still doing these? Very interested Thanks
Yes I am!
Hi What does this cost - and what do I need to do to the bike after you’ve worked your magic with the clocks ?
Email me using paul.thompson@perminatech.co.uk for more details.
I need to see the 1/2 mile run figures....that will TELL ME HOW GOOD THE BIKE IS...acceleration wise...
What does that's do?
Hi , I want this on my Gax1400 how do I go about it?
Where can i have this done to my gauges
Hi,how much is this please?
Do you supply these for a T reg 1999 model?
Sorry but no.
Where can I buy this ?
What is the cost of such a modification?
Hello, I would like to contact you to do that on my motorcycle. Suzuki hayabusa 2005 1gen
200 BHP Rocket !!!!
I'd love to get this done but it's probably not feasible in the states.
I’ve done a few sets for USA owners over the years. Email me if interested.. Paul.Thompson@perminatech.co.uk
Slick. Shame you never shared how to do this or where to get it.
How much is this please?
How do i contact you to do mine xjr clocks 2001
I av a yamaha xjr 1300 yr 2000 .how do i get my clocks done.
I have a Gen 2 Hayabusa w a factory gear indicator but I’d still like to have this feature!!!
Hello the cose on the transistors is 1f then 2 on its side. Which i believe is a bc847b sot23 although 1f (xx) could be a mosfet. Do you recall that at all
If you are still doing this I am definitely interested let me know I will express ship it I have a 04 hayabusa
_does this dry sump clutch system has this slipper assist from downshifting?_
Back torque limiting clutches aren't needed on 2 strokes. Bang down the gears as fast as you like and it will just over rev cause there is very little braking on a 2 stroke.
How do we build this?
Uma obra de arte! Já é lendária!
Nice video. I have 6 brake LED’s that don’t work an 3 indicators. Not sure if it’s the LED’s tho.. do you have an idea where to buy the LED’s and how to test the transistors?
Sorry - from memory the LEDs were all good, it was the surface mount transistors on the rear of the PCB that were faulty although I cannot remember the type as it was 8yrs back and the only set I've been asked to repair. Once identified the transistors were obtained online from overseas (Germany??) if I recall correctly..
Gee I love this, but the way mail is at the moment the risk of a cluster going missing or taking 6 months to get back to me is too much risk. I am in Australia. It have been many years, have you developed a DIY kit. Great work Paul.
Sorry, no kit available and I've done a few from Australia / New Zealand without issue. I have just received 2 sets from HOPE ISLAND, QLD AU that were posted on 20/7, arrived with me 26/07 and will be going back within the usual 12 days...
How did you made it .. possible on xjr 1300 from 2016
Email me if interested- paul.thompson@perminatech.co.uk
i would so pay to have this on my cb1300. They look amazing. I am in Australia though.
Yes please

I have a 2012 quattraporte. Currently have a B1032-02 code which is showing the stop lights out. It is an LED tail light that is not turning on. Can you go into more detail on how you repaired your lamps? These lights are very expensive
On the set I repaired, there were numerous transistors that had failed, each drives several LEDs if I recall correctly. I sourced and replaced the faulty ones and all was good again. As you say, the Lamp units are very expensive to replace and somewhat rare as used parts..
@@ThommoHawk thank you for your response. My light looks to be one piece. I believe I have to do some ungluing to take it apart. Did you find that to be the case?
@@markmanzonelli4063 It was a while back now, but from memory I seem to recall squeezing the join between front (lens) and rear plastics in a small vice, Done just the right amount, you can hear the joint start to crack open and then it was a case of working along the opening, squeezing / gently prying with a blade. Don't rush or be brutal as they are generally brittle when old. Post fixing (after testing) I just regaled the two parts together and smeared with clear sealant to make watertight.. Good luck!
@@ThommoHawk Thank You for you response!
Do you still do this?
yes - email me using Paul.thompson@perminatech.co.uk for more details.
Can you disable the animation for the "can't start" entirely? I thought that's what the "chec" was for already.
